Especially in these times of conflict, the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra sets one of the most important examples of human coexistence and peace with its work. The craft of this ensemble, which includes Israeli and Arab members, is music turned into international understanding. The musicians of this orchestra excel in listening to and accepting each other, regardless of origin or history. Since its founding in 1999 by Edward W. Said and Daniel Barenboim, the focus for all involved has been on dialogue, alongside making music together. This coming summer, the orchestra will perform at Kurhaus Wiesbaden under the baton of its founding father Barenboim, with Anne-Sophie Mutter as soloist, not only featuring a star-studded lineup but also emphasizing peaceful human coexistence as the central theme of this concert.

Artist Update – April 20 Performance of KNUA We regret to inform our audience that Jessica Pratt is unfortunately unable to perform on April 20 due to illness. We wish her a swift and full recovery.

We are delighted to announce that Susanna Markova will be taking the stage. A rising star on the international opera scene, Markova has captivated audiences across Europe with her radiant voice, expressive artistry, and compelling stage presence.

Her recent performances in major opera houses have been met with critical acclaim, and we are honoured to welcome her to our stage. We thank Susanna for joining us on short notice and look forward to a beautiful evening of music.
